The LCF Outdoor League has provided, over many years, the opportunity for competitive 11-a-side hard ball cricket to be played between Luxembourg domestic teams. The League format allows for players of differing levels of playing ability to participate, including older juniors and 'seniors' with many cricketing seasons behind them.

The format and composition of the League has varied over the years, but has recently settled down to 25 over matches, with each team playing each other twice. These matches are played at the Walferdange ground on weekends, and occasionally on weekday evenings. Each September, after a hard-fought round-robin league format, there is a 'Finals Weekend', where the top 4 teams battle it out to decide the annual champions.

The current League teams (2019) has evolved again as LCF has welcomed new teams. So the current format now has 8 teams in 2 Divisions. Additionally, LCF has introduced a new T20 Cup competition

The umpiring of the matches is assured by local, qualified volunteer umpires and the LCF owes a debt of gratitude to them for their dedication.
